      BAJA OCEANFRONT RESTAURANTS

One of the special treats enjoyed by many a Baja traveler is oceanfront dining. Enjoying a nice meal while drinking in a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean or the Sea of Cortez is a very special experience.

With all of the restaurants located on the Baja Peninsula only a handful are located directly in front of the ocean. Most of them offer seafood, some offer a more diverse menu, and most allow you to order a cocktail with your view!

Oceanfront restaurants in southern California are usually extremely expensive and there is usually a wait for a table. Have you ordered a salad at a Charthouse Restaurant lately? Throw in a drink and you've just seen the better part of your $20 bill.

Prices in Baja oceanfront restaurants are generally much more affordable than southern California and other stateside oceanfront restaurants, even though you are looking at the same ocean. The cost of labor and doing business in Baja is much less than in most US cities, and those savings get passed on to you, the hungry Baja traveler.

Like restaurants in any location, the cost of a meal can rise significantly once alcohol has been added to the tab. But the prices at most Baja oceanfront restaurants is still almost half of any stateside oceanfront eatery.

For your review we have included a list of Baja's oceanfront restaurants, categorized under Pacific Ocean, Sea of Cortez, and Los Cabos locations. This list does not include some of the taco stands at La Bufadora south of Ensenada or the oceanfront hotel restaurants on the East Cape and Los Cabos.

Dave and Laurie (and their daughter Emily) do a good job running this 'oasis' in the Baja desert. Their experience in running a restaurant on Baja's EAST CAPE goes a long way towards the lofty goal of making the Scorpion Bay Cantina the main focal point for San Juanico. Give 'em a try!
Scorpion Bay Cantina tends to be the heart of the Gringo action for the whole San Juanico area. Need to know about current road conditions? Need another bag of ice? When are the next waves due? There's usually somebody at the Cantina with the answer.
Scorpion Bay Cantina is open by 8:00 a.m., and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner until 10:00 p.m. 7 days a week. You gotta love this place! It's one of Carlos Fiesta's favorite places on the planet Earth to drink a cold beer!

The newest kid on the beach at Playa Santispac, and well worth a visit!
Ray and his bride offer indoor and outdoor dining, a full bar (killer margaritas!), and great atmosphere!
Ray has a new chef that is excellent so you will not be disappointed with the diverse menu. Delicious!
If Valery is working the tables when you drop by for dinner consider yourself lucky. She's a great waitress and deserves a big tip! Tell her Carlos Fiesta said hello and she may give you a free basket of chips!
Live music can be enjoyed here sometimes at sunset, and with a warm sea breeze and the boats sitting at anchor out in the harbor, you know you have died and gone to heaven!
On Saturday night don't be surprised if they move a few tables from the middle of the room and creat a dance floor where you were sitting. A great selection of Cd's makes it hard to stay seated!
After an evening of great food, cocktails and dancing it's only a few hundred feet to the refreshing waters of Bahia Concepcion for an evening swim!

If you stop here tell Olivia she still owes Carlos Fiesta a cold cervesa!
The 2 chais sitting just above the sand in front of the restaurant are the best place to enjoy the view of Bahia Concepcion!
